Held under the theme The Bright Side of the Desert Moon, the event showcased over 120 large-scale light art installations and building projections, created by more than 100 international and local artists. The artwork was displayed across five major hubs, including King Abdullah Financial District (KAFD), Wadi Hanifah, JAX District, Salam Park, and Wadi Namar. The awe-inspiring festival set six Guinness World Records, including the most drones launched in a week and the largest temporary skate park in the world.

The exhibition, Refracting Identities, Shared Futures, was held at the heart of Riyadh’s art scene, JAX District. Curated by world-renowned artist Neville Wakefield, who is also known for his work on AlUla’s Desert X, the exhibition explored themes of light, cultural identity, and the passage of time. Running until March 2, 2024, this free-to-visit event left a lasting impact on visitors.

Launched in 2021 as part of the Riyadh Art Initiative, Noor Riyadh is now the world’s largest light art festival, celebrating both local and international creativity. The Royal Commission for Riyadh City introduced Noor Riyadh as one of four transformative projects under Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030.

The 2022 edition, which took place across 40 locations in Riyadh, included 500 interactive events and featured over 190 artworks from 130 artists. It also broke six Guinness World Records, cementing its place as a global spectacle.
