English: Newcastle United left-back Jamal Lewis has joined Brazilian side Sao Paulo on loan until the end of June next year, with an option to make the move permanent, the Premier League club said on Tuesday.
About the Player
Northern Ireland international Lewis, 26, who was born in Luton, England, became the first British player to join Sao Paulo.
Lewis, who has 36 caps for Northern Ireland, joined Newcastle from Championship side Norwich City in 2020 and has made 36 appearances for the club.

“When I heard about the opportunity, I immediately told my agent that I wanted to come to Brazil,” Luis said in a statement published on Sao Paulo’s website.
“It is an honour to play for a giant like Sao Paulo and to be the first British player in the club’s history… It is an opportunity I cannot pass up. I am looking forward to meeting the fans and contributing to the team.”
